Burscough rounded off what has been a traumatic season, both on and off the field in style, following a 1-0 win over Frickley Athletic at Victoria Park. Gary McEvatt's goal in the 71st minute was the decisive moment of the game and meant the linnets had won 5 of their final 7 games to end the season in 16th spot.
At one stage relegation from the Unibond premier division was more than a slight worry but the magnificent achievement by both Andy Gray and his players, not just recently but, through out the season earned the linnets their deserved place in the top flight of the Unibond league.
It has bean a real team effort between the club and the supporters to keep Burscough F.C. afloat and everyone deserves to take some credit for this and the hope is the club will have a brighter future and we can all look forward to the 2010/11 season.
